HPS Sales PPT

HPS Sales PPT

Overview

The original scope of this project was to pretty-up the title and end slides, and maybe reduce some of the esoteric swashes on the middle slides, and I did do this, but I could not ethically hand this PowerPoint back to the team without improving all of the graphics. Here is the actions I took:

  1. Well, first of all, I used graphics initially generated for the new website design for this PPT. This gave a cohesive experience to prospects who already saw the website and then would get a sales pitch. This also carried the high-end, high-tech look that was established, and saved time from having to re-invent the wheel with graphics.
  2. I did agree with the sales director that the swashes in the previous template were big. They took up so much space and left little room for the slide content, so I completely dropped them, in favour for a small edge of “crystal” pattern. This allowed for the slides to look stylish, while keeping the focus on the content of the presentation.
  3. I made sure to use as much MS PPT aspects as possible, to keep the template easy to update and maintain by non-designers. For instance, using consistent drop-shadows on photos that needed it. Another difference from the previous PPT template was that I used the PPT functions, as intended. PowerPoint has a lot of… power, and most people don’t realize how easy Microsoft has made it to use it. I found a base master template and then modified it to the HPS style. I created a HPS colour pallet and HPS font pallet as part of the theme. I also used the master template, title template, and other various templates, which made making new slides a breeze, and modifying all slides a one-and-done effort by having the template changes cascade across all derivative slides. I also used updated mock-ups, photographs, and icons in the design.

In the end, I wanted to give a PPT template that the sales team could actually use, would actually use, and could maintain; I also wanted to make sure the design represented the company properly. All-in-all, I did meet my personal goals.

It’s probably easier to just look at the PowerPoint and see for yourself.
